Local Inventory Quick Start Guide
Setup in 3 Stages
This quick start guide provides a condensed overview of setting up ShoppingFeeder’s Local Inventory service. For detailed instructions, refer to the complete guides.
Stage 1: Subscribe to Local Inventory
Time required: 2 minutes
- Log in to ShoppingFeeder dashboard
- Navigate to Manage Services → Inventory Locations
- Click “Start FREE trial” button
- Choose your plan (Basic: $30/month with 15-day trial, or Premium: $0/month)
✅ Result: Local Inventory service activated
Stage 2: Configure Your Locations
Time required: 5-10 minutes per location
Before you start:
- Get your Google My Business store codes from Google Business Profile Manager
Configuration steps:
- Stay in Inventory Locations section
- For each physical location:
- Location Label: Enter descriptive name (e.g., “Cape Town Main Store”)
- Google Store Code: Paste your Google My Business store code
- Select Location Channel: Choose “Google Local Inventory Feed (ZA)”
- Copy the generated feed URL for each location
- Click SAVE
✅ Result: Location-specific feeds generated with URLs ready for Google Merchant Center
Stage 3: Add Feeds to Google Merchant Center
Time required: 5 minutes per location
- Go to Google Merchant Center
- Navigate to Settings → Data sources
- Click Supplemental sources tab
- Click Add local inventory
- Select “Enter a link to your file”
- Paste your ShoppingFeeder feed URL
- Verify settings:
- Update schedule: Automatically updates every 24 hours at 12:00 AM
- Authentication: No username and password provided
- Language: English
- Feed label: ZA
- Click Submit
- Repeat for each location
✅ Result: Local inventory feeds active in Google Merchant Center
Verification Checklist
Within 24-48 hours, verify:
- All feeds show “Active” status in Google Merchant Center
- No critical errors in feed status
- Products display local availability when searched on Google
- Correct store locations appear for your products

What Happens Automatically
- Inventory sync: Every 24 hours from your platform to ShoppingFeeder
- Feed updates: Every 24 hours at 12:00 AM SAST
- Google refresh: Every 24 hours (fetches latest from ShoppingFeeder)
