ShoppingFeeder Pixel and Data Processing FAQ

Understanding Our Tracking Pixel

Why is there a pixel on my store?

The ShoppingFeeder pixel is automatically installed when you set up our app to help improve your product feed performance and provide valuable analytics insights. While the pixel is part of our standard installation, it is not mandatory for basic feed generation functionality.

What is the pixel’s purpose?

Our pixel serves several important functions:

  • Analytics Tracking: Monitors clicks and conversions from your product feeds
  • Campaign Tracking: Enables better tracking of your Meta advertising performance
  • Future Smart Features: Collects data that may be used for upcoming “smart” product features and enhancements
  • System Analytics: Provides insights into overall ShoppingFeeder system usage and performance

How is the pixel related to product feed generation?

The pixel and product feed work together but are separate components:

  • Product Feed: Generates and syncs your product catalog to Meta and other platforms
  • Pixel: Tracks user interactions and conversions for analytics and potential future smart features

The pixel data may be used for upcoming smart product features, but it is not currently used for feed generation.

Data Processing and Privacy

What data do we process and why?

Our pixel collects standard e-commerce analytics data including:

  • Click Data: Which products users click on from your feeds
  • Conversion Tracking: Purchase events and conversion metrics
  • User Behavior: Basic interaction patterns to optimize feed performance
  • Campaign Performance: How your products perform across different advertising channels

This data is processed to:

  • Provide analytics and tracking insights
  • Support current and future campaign tracking
  • Enable development of upcoming “smart” product features
  • Maintain system performance and functionality

How can I opt out of data tracking?

You have full control over your data tracking preferences:

Option 1: Disable Tracking Parameters

  • Contact our support team to request disabling tracking parameters in URLs
  • The pixel remains active but won’t collect tracking data
  • Your feeds will continue to work normally

Please note: The pixel itself cannot be completely removed as it is a standard component across all ShoppingFeeder installations, but we can disable the tracking parameters so it won’t process your data.

Impact on Feed Performance

What happens if I disable tracking parameters?

Disabling tracking parameters will NOT affect:

  • Product feed generation
  • Feed synchronization with Meta
  • Product catalog updates
  • Basic app functionality

You will lose access to:

  • Conversion tracking data
  • Click analytics
  • Performance insights
  • Any future smart features that may be developed

Making Changes to Your Setup

To modify your tracking preferences:

  1. Contact Support: Reach out to our support team to request disabling tracking parameters
  2. Specify Your Preference: Let us know you want to opt out of data tracking (note: the pixel will remain installed but won’t process tracking data)
  3. Confirmation: We’ll confirm the changes and provide an estimated timeframe
  4. Verification: We’ll notify you once tracking parameters are disabled

Summary

The ShoppingFeeder pixel is a standard component installed across all stores using our app. While the pixel itself cannot be removed, it collects analytics data for tracking and potential future smart features – not for improving current feed performance. You have control over whether this data is processed by requesting to disable tracking parameters. Disabling tracking will not impact your ability to generate and sync product feeds to Meta or other platforms.

For any questions or to request disabling tracking parameters, please contact our support team directly.
